Rohet Garh Horse safaris are organised in the Marwar region of Rajasthan.Its semi-desert environment serves as an enchanting backdrop to the rich colors of the people of different ethnic communities. The history of Marwar, expressed is an enigma of valour, battle and chivalry, is inseparable from the from the mount.The pride of the region is the horse, the "Marwar". That has been bred over centuries of royal patronage.

The carefully rared pedigree is acclaimed for its stamina, and endurance against the harsh rigours of desert terrain and extreme demands of the climate.Celebrated in poetry,legends and lore of the region describe Princes and Warriors astride the steed in glorious battle, in that rare indefatigable spirit that is a heritage of the people, even to this day.


Rohetgarh offers a variety of Safaris, which provide both splendid riding exercise, and the means to witness authentic places of scenic and tourisitic interest. One also enjoy wildlife, surprisingly abundant in this area. Well-bred horses that are a pleasure to ride, carry you across this enchanting desert landscape.

The itineraries offered cover day trips, as well as overnight excursion packages of 2,3 and 5 days.

A typical pattern is an early morning ride (after breakfast) of 3 to 4 hours, a lunch halt at a scenic site; an afternoon's rest; and a second ride in the later afternoon of about 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours.  

The overnight halts are at old forts and residences, belonging to the landed gentry of the region, and offer basic comforts as well as campsites in fully equiped tents with attached bathrooms. Typically, 30 to 40 kms are covered each day, to suit the convenience of the guests.

A DAY TRIP

This day safari, starts from Rohet Garh, takes you across several village ,each reflecting different community groups, with their distinctive life-style. Lunch is served on the banks of a small lake, which yields its own images of flamboyant color of ethnic images of flamboyant color of ethnic Rajasthani rural life. The ride leads back to Rohet Garh before sundown.
