Palace Hotel (Bikaner House)
Bikaner House was designed as the summer residence of the royal family of Bikaner who wanted respite form the stifling summer. Built in the 1893 during the reign of Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji, it was converted as a Heritage Hotel in 1962 by Maharaja Karni Singhji. Since then it has been called as the Palace Hotel. Occupying one of the best locations in Mount Abu, this glorious heritage hotel still stands as proud as before- a legacy passed down from the royal family of Bikaner. It is easily accessible via air and road, being at a distance of 27 kms from the railway station, 3 kms from the bus stand at 190 kms from the airport.
Guests have the option of choosing from an array of 38 rooms, each replete with its own distinctive charm. All the 13 suits, 24 double rooms and the solitary single room are furnished with attached bath with hot/ cold water, direct dialing telephone, television and 24 hours room service. Other hotel amenities include travel desk, money exchange, safe, laundry and car rental. There is also a conference room, which can accommodate up to 150 people. For recreation, one can play tennis, badminton, billiards, and volleyball or go on pony rides and picnics. The Dining Rooms in the hotel serve traditional as well as continental cuisine. The hotel can also arrange for bonfire barbeques or meals by the lakeside.
